According to the latest statistics, sales of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are down 14% compared to the previous week, reaching $91.86 million in the past seven days. Interestingly, the number of buyers increased by 38%; however, NFT trades fell more than 30% this week.

From Sunday, August 20 through Sunday, August 27, 2023, the journey of non-fungible token sales led to a total of $91.86 million in hand exchanges during the week. However, there was a decline in sales, which represented a decrease of 14.06% compared to the previous week. Of these numbers, Ethereum sales, though down 13.87% this week, held a lion’s share and contributed $56.35 million to the overall total of $91.86 million. Solana took second place in blockchain sales, amassing $8,592,656 in the past seven days.

Nevertheless, Solana’s sales faced an 8.95% decline compared to last week’s SOL-based NFT sales. On the sales leader board, Ethereum and Solana were in the forefront, followed by Polygon, Mythos, Immutable X, BNB, and Bitcoin. Bitcoin’s position remained consistently in seventh place for three consecutive weeks, after falling from its former second position. BTC-targeted NFTs raked in $2,130,582 this week, yet these numbers were 22.05% lower than the previous week’s all-time highs. Of the top ten blockchains, Cardano and Arbitrum were the only winners in terms of percentage growth this week.

By shifting focus to the most prominent collections over the past seven days, the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) emerged as the frontrunner, raking in $10.18 million. Despite the turbulent times of the past few weeks, resulting in a significant fall in the minimum value of the collection, BAYC NFT sales defied expectations by rising 99% higher than the previous week. Close behind BAYC were Dmarket, Sorare, Draftkings, Cross the Ages and Mutant Ape Yacht Club, in that order. In particular, Cross the Ages saw an astonishing 1,025.50% increase in sales compared to the previous week.
Topping the list of notable NFT sales this week was BAYC #7485, which grossed $175,923 just 15 hours ago. A close second was an NFT named ‘Crown’, which changed hands six days earlier for $168,187. The third and fourth spots were claimed by two BAYC NFTs, while the fifth position was secured by a Cryptopunks NFT that took home a prize of $128,371. Interestingly, a significant majority of the top 20 NFT sales this week came from the Cryptopunks NFT collection.
