A weekly report from Xinmin mentions a strategic partnership between blockchain company VeChain and Renji Hospital (affiliated with Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine). It says they have launched the MyBaby Smart Medical Care project, the world’s first “blockchain-based in vitro fertilization (IVF) service application.”
The combination of DNV’s professional services and VeChain’s advanced blockchain technology has enabled the project to verify the key stages of IVF. Additionally, MyBaby provides private, exclusive and end-to-end data access for expectant parents undergoing treatment. The report says the project actively facilitates the seamless transfer of embryo culture image data to patients through the hospital’s online platform, with the unique file code stored on the VeChain blockchain.
MyBaby allows users to view, extract, label and score fertilized eggs, linked to embryo culture and storage. In this way, concerns about the privacy of medical data are reduced by limiting the number of intermediaries between the production and delivery of data.
