Vaulten has officially launched on Neo N3 mainnet, introducing a puzzle and logic game to the chain inspired by escape rooms and cryptographic riddles. Players can take on weekly and monthly challenges spanning varying difficulty levels, with opportunities to win NFT rewards and occasional gas prizes.

Gameplay and mechanics
Vaulten is designed around a lore in which “The Vault” once held source keys to a perfect chain. A rogue faction called the Architects spread that vault across countless smart contracts, locking access via cryptographic puzzles. Solving these puzzles, considered a “proof of humor”, awards new rewards.

Users spend gas to submit guesses and, if correct, can claim an NFT reward. These NFTs are displayed in a “vault” linked to the user’s wallet. The victory also provides an incidental gas payment.
Puzzles are divided into three layers:
- Surface Layer (simple): “Recently exposed code snippets. Unstable but accessible.”
- Deep Node (Medium): “Hidden in old contracts, protected by logic loops.”
- Core Cipher (Hard): “Achieved by the architects themselves. Very few have reached this far.”
Funding and community support
Vault was supported by the Grantshares community funding DAO, which received unanimous support with seven votes. On September 10, a funding allocation of 2,300 gas was released. The project is intended to be a free, community-driven initiative aimed at encouraging engagement in the NEO ecosystem.
Launch incentives and anti-farming measures
To celebrate the launch, Vaulten is running a rewards campaign through October 11. Under the campaign:
- Each puzzle attempt grants 0.05 gas (maximum of two attempts per puzzle).
- Every puzzle solved. 0.1 gas.
- Only wallets with previous transaction history are eligible.
- Newly created wallets (or wallets that have only received gas and solve a puzzle on the first attempt) will be disqualified.
The policy is intended to deter “farming” of rewards through disposable addresses.
Outlook and impact on Neo
Vaulten offers a new approach to user engagement in the NEO ecosystem. Combining cryptographic puzzles with on-chain mechanics and collectible NFTs, it aims to encourage both casual users and more technically minded participants to explore Neo’s tooling in a playful environment.
The team wants to increase business on chains through persistent puzzle design, community interest, and balancing rewards versus gas costs. As an experiment in interactive learning and ecosystem activation, Vaulten aims to stand out as one of the more creative DApps now living on NEO N3.
