Uniswap wallet users can now access the storage solution through a Google-supported browser, similar to other self-custody tools like MetaMask.
After more than six months of waiting, Uniswap Labs has opened public access to its wallet browser extension on Google Chrome. The tool was first announced in February and more than 793,000 users were on the waiting list.
According to Uniswap Labs, the entity behind Ethereum’s largest decentralized exchange (DEX), users can perform on-chain activities such as token swaps through the wallet browser extension on 11 supported networks. While it is unknown whether the company will expand wallet support to other blockchains, current offerings include Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Blast, BNB Chain, Celo, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon, Zora Network, and ZKsync.
The DEX builder and wallet provider now operates two solutions with huge user demand. Not only does the crypto storage option have nearly a million users, but Uniswap’s DEX also ranks as the top decentralized trading platform with $2.4 billion in daily trading volume and $5.6 billion in total escrow value.

Wallet providers are rolling out new features and offerings this year as blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies take the global spotlight.
On July 11, Coinbase launched a unified platform for managing Coinbase Wallets and on-chain wallets to simplify on-chain investments. Jack Dorsey-founded Block also partnered with payments company MoonPay to enable Bitcoin (BTC) purchases using major payment methods.
MetaMask integrated Blockaid security for better threat prevention and announced instant validator staking, allowing users to use their Ethereum validator nodes and earn rewards. The developments indicate increasing competition among wallet providers to develop the best features to capture the next billion Web3 users and lead the way for mass adoption.
