The Ton Foundation has denied claims that it has officially launched an official Golden Visa initiative of the VAE, so that there is no formal partnership between the Blockchain project and the VAE government.
The clarification follows on widespread reports on social media that suggest that investors of digital assets can get residence by using Ton -Tokens.
During the weekend, Ton Promotions claimed that individuals could secure a gold visa of 10 years by encouraging $ 100,000 to ton-tokens and paying a processing costs of $ 35,000. This was framed as a more accessible alternative to traditional routes that require real estate investments require more than $ 500,000.
However, VAE authorities quickly refuted these claims. In a joint statement released on July 7, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Haven protection (ICP), the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) and the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) denied such an initiative.
The ICP clarified that Golden Visa are limited to applicants who meet specific eligible elderly, such as real estate investors, entrepreneurs, scientists and exceptional talents, with digital power holders who are currently not included.
The SCA added that virtual assets are regulated under a separate legal structure that is not related to residence routes, while VARA confirmed that Ton has no permit or authorized to work within the VAE regulatory framework.
In his statement of 7 July, Ton explained that the initiative in question is an exploratory effort in collaboration with an accredited partner specializing in blockchain infrastructure and tokenized assets, but is developing completely outside of each formal regulation with the VAE government.
According to the statement:
“No official Golden Visa program has been launched in collaboration with the government of the United Arab Emirates, nor has any government approval has been granted to Ton.”
Ton emphasized that, although the collaboration tries to explore, a compatible, blockchain-based frameworks that could one day support Real-World Residentiepaden, is still in early development. The explanation also emphasized that decisions about visa application to disconnect the VAE authorities remain.
The announcement attracted industrial criticism of his first marketing approach. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao called it ‘aggressive/misleading marketing’.
Ton said that it welcomed the joint statement of the VAE, and confirmed his dedication to regulatory transparency and responsible development. The foundation added that every future official involvement in gold visa programs would be communicated transparently through the right channels.
The Ton Foundation continues to concentrate on integrating real-world assets with digital infrastructure in its broader efforts to bring tokenized services to the chain.
