Over the past six months, the Sandbox DAO has initiated one of the most complex and significant restructuring operations ever seen in the NFT sector: managing and optimizing a wallet of over $2 millionnow considered a true digital investment fund.

cleanse the pool of illiquid or devalued assets, generate liquidity and strategically reinvest in top art, strengthening the DAO’s curatorial identity.

A challenging mandate in a crisis market
The NFT market has gone through a phase of significant contraction in recent years. Many assets purchased in the 2021-2022 period have lost more than 90% of their value, with historic collections – such as Yuga Labs, BAYC or MAYC – experiencing an unprecedented drop in rock-bottom prices.
Despite this scenario, the team’s mission was not simply ‘sell’:

- targeted sales of the most tactical assets: PFP with low cultural correlation, illiquid works, NFTs with minimal turnover
- aggressively relisting when necessary, even below the floor price
- using private deals, direct offers, market making and 1:1 negotiations

- strategic conversions ETH → USDC
- risk management in an extremely volatile market
- conversion of the most exposed assets into stable liquidity
3. Acquire Blue-Chip Art during moments of panic
