The Sui Blockchain makes steps to improve accessibility by switching on transactions via SMS.
On January 27, Mysten Labs shared co-founder and main cryptographer Kostas Kryptos Chalkias a demo in which it is shown how SMS-based transactions function on the SUI network. Mysten Labs is the developer behind the SUI layer 1 blockchain network.
Adeniyi Abiodun, another co-founder of Mysten Labs, confirmed the upcoming launch of this position. He emphasized the potential to make decentralized payments and rewards more accessible.
In an X -post, Sui echoed the sentiment and said:
‘[This] is an industrial-changing product, which has enormous consequences for payments, Defi, rewards, gaming and more! “
In the meantime, various market observers believe that this development could stimulate widespread blockchain acceptance, especially in subordinated regions with inconsistent internet access.
Sui’s 2025 plan
In addition to SMS transactions, the SUI Blockchain introduces a series of progress that is aimed at establishing itself as a leading platform for finance, gaming, artificial intelligence and decentralized applications.
The Mysticeti V2 -upgrade will improve the consensus mechanism, optimize transaction speeds and improve processing efficiency. To tackle scalability, the Remora solution makes horizontal scaling possible by distributing workloads on validators, which improves network efficiency for use cases with a lot of application.
In addition, the introduction of programmable peer-to-peer tunnels will reduce latency and increase the transit, making real-time applications such as gaming and payments more achievable. In the meantime, Sui will implement the Seal framework to strengthen security, allowing developers to control access to stored data, guaranteeing both privacy and flexibility.
Sui would also implement scion to protect the network. Scion is a safe routing protocol that is designed to defend against cyber attacks and rouge vulnerabilities.
Moreover, the network is planning to debut Walrus, a storage solution that directly integrates with smart contracts. With this innovation, decentralized apps can manage large files, such as users generated and AI models.
With all this technological progress, Abiodun expressed the confidence in Sui’s ability to become an extensive solution for developers. He stated that the infrastructure was built to support Bold Web3 ″ innovations.
He added:
“Our goal is simple: if you have a daring idea for a web3 app, Sui should be your first choice. Not because of hype or marketing, but because it is undeniably the smoothest path to success. “
