Assisterr took home two prizes at BeWater’s recent AI Crypto Hackathon: the $2,000 Neo Bounty and the $5,000 first prize in the Tokenized AI and Incentives track. Assisterr’s AI solution was deployed on the Neo X EVM sidechain TestNet.
Assisterr is a University of Cambridge-based startup creating a network of community-owned small language models. The team seeks to empower communities to collaborate and pool their expertise in niche topics by developing, deploying, and monetizing SLMs. To monetize SLMs, Assisterr will distribute its own ASSR token to entities that contribute to the ecosystem by sharing data.
Nick Havryliak, co-founder of Assisterr, expressed his excitement about winning the Tokenized AI and Incentives track and the Neo bounty at the BeWater hackathon. He said: “We see hackathons as a great playground to test R&D ideas, meet potential strategic partners and collaborate on ideas that are valuable to the industry at scale, but shouldn’t be perfect right away. We appreciate the support and hope that this will be a great start to a long-term partnership between Assisterr and Neo that will be beneficial to both our communities.”
Currently, the team is running a boosted TestNet campaign to test and improve its AI agents. The campaign will run for another 1 to 2 months in multiple phases to give community members the opportunity to participate. Tasks for the campaign include running an AI agent locally and participating in social media activities.
Looking ahead, Assisterr plans to add to its SLM store an AI developer relations agent trained in technical documentation and Neo’s codebase. The agent’s goal is to raise awareness of Neo’s tech stack while accelerating dApp development and onboarding users with less friction.
