From rare CryptoPunks to DJ booths, Seedphrase begins a new journey with its debut music track ‘Angels’. Seedphrase, originally known as Daniel Maegaard, is a symbol of the contemporary intersection between art and technology, combining haute couture, cutting-edge digital art and music.
His rising fame in recent years can be traced back to his immersive DJing experiences, accentuated by a helmet portraying his emblematic CryptoPunk avatar, effectively bridging the digital world with tangible reality.
Ten years ago, Maegaard stepped into the crypto universe and began assembling a formidable collection of digital art and NFTs. His prized asset and digital identity is CryptoPunk #8348 – acquired in May 2020. Recognized as the “Mona Lisa of NFTs”, this NFT is distinguished by its seven unique attributes – a rarity among other CryptoPunks boasting between 0 and 6 of these functions. By 2021, as the boundaries of Web3 and traditional media began to blur, Maegaard became known as “Seedphrase”, bringing his CryptoPunk to life.
“I see my music as a bridge between Web3 and the mainstream,” notes Seedphrase. He adds, “It’s a reflection of CryptoPunk’s 7-trait significance, while also shedding light on Web3’s extensive capabilities.”
Making “Angels”
As “Angels” reveals, Seedphrase says it’s not just any song. It’s a love letter to Los Angeles, known as the “City of Angels,” depicting the dawn of the city that resonates with Seedphrase’s artistic evolution.
“The track was first conceptualized in December 2022. I wanted to produce something that resonated not only with my journey, but with the fans who have been along the way,” Seedphrase now tells nft. “Web3 isn’t just about screens, it’s also about IRL experiences. I intend to tell the day-to-day story of Seedphrase through a series of audiovisual tracks and give listeners a glimpse of my world.”
Since his DJ debut in November 2021, Seedphrase’s journey has been star-studded. He has shared stages with legends like Dillon Francis, Steve Aoki and Diplo. His awards also include collaborations with luxury brands such as Dolce & Gabbana and Louis Vuitton.
What’s next for his music
Seedphrase is now telling nft that he plans to release more music after ‘Angels’. With his next songs he wants to dive deeper into his personality.
