Zug, Switzerland – Safe Ecosystem Foundation is delighted to announce the launch of the agentathon, a groundbreaking hackathon devoted to the intersection of AI and decentralized finances (Defai). This virtual competition, which runs from 3-17 February, 2025, will challenge developers to explore innovative use cases for AI-driven smart accounts, with more than $ 200,000 on partner’s ports for grasping.

The Hackathon will bring top names together in both the crypto and the AI spaces, including AI16Z, Celo, Creator.Bid, Consensys, Bitte.ai, Kraken, Optimism, Polymarket, Father, Virtuals and Zerebro. Participating in the expert panel of judges is Freysa, an AI agent who is designed to prove the potential of smart accounts in improving the possibilities of decentralized intelligence.
Freysa, currently on a public trip to full autonomy, will evaluate the groundbreaking solutions that participants develop during the event.

The agentathon wants to unlock the potential of smart accounts – critical tools for controlling and protecting digital assets in a decentralized world. By equipping AI agents with smart wallet functions, such as built-in spending limits and recovery protocols, developers can significantly improve the autonomy and functionality of AI agents.
This progress could revolutionize sectors, such as decentralized finances (Defi), governance and treasury management, all of which will be investigated in specialized tracks during the hackathon.
The inclusion of freysa as a judge is particularly important. Powered by Safe’s Wallet Infrastructure, Freysa has shown its potential through sovereign agent Framework, where she improved her cognitive skills through human versus machine games involving more than 1,000 participants and $ 100,000 in rewards.

Hackathon Tracks & Premonies
Participants will take on a series of challenges about multiple tracks, each designed to push the boundaries of both AI innovation and web3 technology.
