An owner of the Boston car dealer has been charged for stealing $ 1.3 million from the US government in a fraudulent tax refund scheme.
According to a new press release from the Ministry of Justice (DOJ), the 31-year-old Jessie El-Goul has been accused of one census of theft of government funds, one count of bank fraud and four counts of money laundering due to alleged decorer the government.
Authorities claim that EL-Goul-Die owned the affordable car dealer of the motorcycle group in Leominster-a-falsified tax return controls worth $ 1.34 million to his business account that was originally made by the American Treasury Department to an unnamed Canadian company.
After depositing the false check, El-Goul returned to the bank and got four checkouts to Shell companies and a law firm as a means to launder the money. He was arrested and charged on June 6.
According to the press release, he is confronted with a maximum of 10 years for the theft of the funds, up to 30 years for bank fraud and a maximum of 20 years for each count of money laundering.
In June, the DOJ revealed that El-Goul was reportedly part of a criminal ring that stable tax refunds from legitimate taxpayers. Authorities say that between 2023 and 2024 the organization – which included eight people – reportedly stole $ 8.8 million in tax refund checks and deposited the funds into accounts they checked.
As declared by the American lawyer Leah B. Foley,
“As claimed, these defendants have stolen millions in tax refunds who owed hard-working Americans and used Massachusetts companies and community banks to cheat the American treasury. Thieven should understand that taking government money is not a victimless crime.”
