BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) options will start trading tomorrow, according to the head of ETP listing at Nasdaq. In a statement today, the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) indicated its willingness to clear and settle options for spot Bitcoin ETFs, such as BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (iBIT). Following the announcement, Bloomberg Senior ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas noted that it is “a matter of when, not if.” Alison Hennessy, head of ETP Listings at Nasdaq, later noted that iBIT options could be listed as early as tomorrow. This announcement comes as Bitcoin ETF trading volumes have increased, ranging from $3 billion to $7 billion in November.
