A crypto wallet with over 22.66 million app downloads is introducing a new feature that allows users to cash out their funds.
In a statement, MetaMask says say The newly rolled-out “sell” feature allows users to convert their Ethereum (ETH) into the US Dollar, Euro or British Pound, depending on their location, by sending the crypto directly to their bank or Paypal account.
“Rather than being limited to a single provider, MetaMask aggregates a range of vetted providers (many of the same in the buying flow) – to ensure they meet our high standards – to provide you with several real-time options to put your ETH on convert Ethereum Mainnet to the fiat currency of your choice (if available).”
Users must sign in and link their fiat accounts before they can sell crypto in the MetaMask Portfolio. It can also take several days for the funds to appear on the balance, although times vary depending on the provider.
MetaMask’s new sales feature currently only supports Ethereum, though the platform plans to expand the capability to native guest tokens on layer-2 networks in the near future.
The new service is also initially limited to the US, UK, and parts of Europe, but MetaMask plans to eventually roll out the feature to other parts of the world.
