Zero Knowledge Podcast (zeroknowledgefm) released a video where ZKPassport co-founders @madztheo and @michaelelliot talked about what was going on in the Noir ecosystem and other projects like Obsidion. The episode highlights the role of community contributions in accelerating the evolution of Noir, a domain-specific zero-knowledge language (zkDSL) created by Aztec Network.

Community contributions and development
Noir (v0.10) was initially not user-friendly, but has become more production-ready over time. ZKPassport’s community contributions include libraries such as RSA, ECDSA and a date library to perform age verification. The use of Noir in other languages, such as the Circom, and Halo2, shows that there are notable migrations from other languages ββto Noir. Noir has also participated in hackathons such as ZK Hack Lisbon and receives an independent security audit to be production ready.
An activity from GitHub through zkpassport’s account is proof that active library contributions won’t occur until September 2025. The Noir Discord community has expanded to over 5,000 members. The ecosystem has been strengthened through venture support from a16z Crypto in 2024 upon the founding of Noir and ZKPassport.
Implications and potential developments
The current audit would potentially allow production release by the first quarter of 2026, which would open up adoption opportunities for companies. Migration from other ZK frameworks Migration could increase the number of active developers by mid-2026 (currently it is around 1,000). There is potential integration with other blockchains, including the Solana, which could grow the use of Noir beyond Ethereum.
The Zero Knowledge podcast takes the spotlight to highlight the expansion and development of the Noir ecosystem through the contributions of ZKPassport and its active developer community. Affirmed by the GitHub project, community involvement and market dynamics, Noir is becoming one of the most popular zkDSLs to use in privacy-conscious applications. The next audit and the features being production ready are a milestone in the world of enterprise adoption.
