In an interview organized by Kyle Chassé, Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan and Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart weighed in which spot ETF more intake – XRP or Solana – if the same day could be approved. Both concluded that the initial capital wave would probably prefer XRP, even if the accumulation could tilt to Solana in the longer term.
XRP or Solana: which place ETF will dominate?
Seyffart earthed His vision in the implementation of existing derivatives -based products. “We have, we had some sort of a situation like this where we had futures solana ETFs and futures or derivatives based ETFs had launched that exposure to solana before the XRP versions. And the XRP versions have more assets and streams than the Solana version,” he said.
Although warning that “rods -based products are not nearly as high in the list of demand for investors such as the spot products,” he called that precedent in addition to the power of the shopping community of XRP. According to Seyffart, a “pseudo spot product from Rex Osprey was that went through a whole series of meshes and traveling around to try to get exposure to spot Solana” also “very well done”, but not enough to change his ranking in the short term.

“I think in the near term, I would bet on xrp, but over the long term, I’d probably bet on sol getting more assets,” seyffart continued, point to mass -market familiarity with xrp narratives – “Anyone I know that space like Doesnally hotelytn’t. It’s Gonna Be the Backend System for All Banks ” – and the Persistent Volume of XRP -Related Discussion Across Tiktok, Reddit and Other Social Platforms.
“The ground game is unreal,” he said, before he adds that institutional conversations are skewed differently: “From institutional point of view … There seem to be many more serious people who look at Solana … Certainly, I Lean Solana or Ethereum from my point of view.”
Hougan agreed with the sequencing. “I actually agree. I think Xrp would do better out of the gate,” he said, and he emphasized that the intensity of a dedicated minority, instead of a broad sentiment, drives day -one ETF streams. “I think the average opinion about Solana is better than for XRP at Crypto investors, but that’s not who buys the ETF on the first day. It’s the passion, right?”

He told his experience during an XRP focust event and underlined the depth of that basis: “I went to an XRP conference in Vegas on a Saturday. There were 1200 people in the room. Every chair was taken. I love it.”
Hougan added that the final process of Solana would depend on the ‘narrative transition’, suggesting that a shifting storyline around the network could influence the timing sensitive allocations. “If Solana tears … it would do well,” he said. “But my basic store from the gate would be XRP, at least for the first few months.”
In summary, the assessments of the analysts sketch a split path: an early wave in XRP spot ETF entry driven by a highly mobilized constituency in the retail trade, followed by a potential reversal in which Solana benefits from deeper institutional involvement and evolving stories, stories, in total activa.
At the time of the press, XRP traded at $ 3.06.
