Throwback time! Do you remember the MFERS? There is a new one in the city.
He is messy, he is shy, he is a gamer, he eats pizza off the floor – he is the normal mfer.
The CC0 Studios team got inspiration from the NFT NFT collection of November 2021 to create the Normal Mfer, an animated YouTube-Pilot episode that is being released this month in which the life is described of a young, normal-and-hek Mfer who still lives with his parents at the age of 23.
The Mfers were one of those NFT collections from the Boom era that later launched in the hype. The attitude towards NFT PFPs already shifted to degeneration and skepticism at the time.
At that time, so many NFT collections had made enormous promises by extensive “route maps” that were rarely fulfilled. Teams often gave up after a few weeks or months, which produced accusations of “backs” and scam projects. Pseudonymous founders left and disappeared together with piles of cash.

The Mfers were partly born of that time. There was no route map, no use and the MFers were launched in the public domain, which means that someone could reuse the PFPs for any purpose. Free use was part of the vision.
Mfers Maker Sartoshi – A play in the name of unknown Bitcoin maker Satoshi Nakamoto – has it confirmed obviously that the “Are Ya win, son?” Meme was his favorite and immediately inspired the NFT collection.
I talked to ‘Lawl’, whose real name is Joe, but preferred not to share his last name publicly. He is co-founder of CC0 Studios and has created the normal Mfer project.
“I definitely resonate with that character,” he tells me about the normal Mfer.
The normal Mfer and his dog Max live in one messy room, strewn with posters, books and various artifacts of life. His mother is an astronaut for some reason and his father wants to sell their family house.
The Mfer is in love with leaf, the girl next door, but is also afraid of her and is not sure what to do about it. His daydreams change the animation of black and white in color when he is around her. Daddy comes in him to think about her, and well, wants him to leave the house so that his parents can continue their lives.
