AI Research Lab OpenGradient delivery The Walrus Data Storage Protocol to make decentralized AI agents.

Centralization is one of the most important concerns with AI systems, which is why several companies turn to blockchain to tackle it. On Wednesday, June 25, OpenGladient announced his integration with Walrus to bring decentralized AI to the Sui Network (SUI).

OpenGradient will use the decentralized storage network of Walrus to build and implement decentralized AI agents. According to the team, integration enables it to host more than 100 AI models in dozens of ecosystems.

Ultimately, the goal of the platform to make decentralized AI a reality. Matthew Wang, co-founder and CEO at OpenGradient, explained the benefits to give users control over their own AI models. In particular, the models would be private, cheaper to be executed and more transparent.

“Ai is not something that belongs to a handful of solid technology companies; it is from users and that is always. It has been our mission to make this idea a reality, both seasoned AI developers to give daily consumers the opportunity to create, change and possess their own AI models,” Wang, open grade.

AI models need decentralized data: Walrus Foundation

AI models require access to large amounts of data, therefore decentralized storage has become increasingly attractive. Rebecca Simmonds, Managing Executive at Walrus Foundation, emphasized why developers of AI Solutions need storage platforms such as Walrus.

“The only available options have the risks for privacy and control that are inherent in centralized architecture, making it almost impossible to build really decentralized models. Our integration with opengradient enables us to fulfill that need, so that a decentralized storage solution is offered for users, Walus to control them back into the control of their faith,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and, in control of their data,, to control them, to control them back in control.

Thanks to open storage protocols, users can see exactly which training data go in an AI model. According to OpenGradient, users and developers can now use Walrus Data Storage to build and train their own models.
