Imagine a world where digital assistants not only manage your schedule or read the morning news, but can also shop on your behalf. Crosssmint, a Web3 infrastructure company, has announced a new collaboration with Visa to enable AI agents to make payments directly on the blockchain. And what makes it even more interesting is that this is all built on the new Visa platform, called Intelligent Commerce.
Through this collaboration, AI agents can carry out transactions using tokenized payment references. It is not only practical, but it also offers extra protection. This means that the user’s visa information does not actually change owner, but is displayed in the form of a safer token.
Great news: Crosssmint works together with @Visa to bring agentic trade to the world.

Users can also still set spending limits or follow transactions at any time. So, even if your AI agent suddenly becomes too enthusiastic about shopping, you can still pull the brakes.
Visa itself launched this intelligent trading platform around April. They introduced five main functions specifically aimed at AI shopping experiences, including a special authentication system, tokenization and fraud prevention functions based on behavioral signals.
This platform has begun to be tested with big names such as OpenAi, Anthropic and Stripe. If all goes well, a wider rollout will take place next year.
Visa builds on innovations from the past to embrace blockchain and AI payments
Interesting is that this collaboration also had many people look back on Visa’s earlier steps. CNF previously emphasized that Harvard even brought the old Visa patent from 2020 (US 2020/0151682 A1) in its last presentation.
The patent discusses a blockchain-based system with which central banks can convert Fiat money into a digital version. The system is based on a central authority to efficiently manage the issue and cross -border transfers. In this context, Harvard also mentioned names such as XRP and XLM, and emphasized that discussions about the future of digital payments are increasingly concerning the crypto world.
On the other hand, this is not the first time that the visa has been friendly with decentralized technology. Last January they collaborated with X to present the X -money account – a function that makes immediate transactions possible and is claimed to be able to dispute the dominance of traditional banking.
Through X Payments LLC they also have 49 licenses from American states in their pocket. A step that clearly does not play when it comes to compliance with the regulations.
In addition, Visa also launched a credit card in February in collaboration with Fouw. Uniquely gives this card users up to 2% to Bitcoin solutions instead of conventional cashback. Can be used worldwide, the map also strengthens the image of Visa as a bridge between the old financial system and the ever-evolving crypto era.
Crosssmint is rising, ready to spoil AI
Behind this big step, Crosssmint itself is not a small player. The company has just investigated new funds of $ 23.6 million in a financing round led by Ribbit Capital. They are also supported by big names such as Franklin Templeton, Lightspeed and Nyca. The money? Certainly to expand the AI agent ecosystem and to perfect their blockchain infrastructure that now serves more than 40,000 developers in more than 40 networks.
The subscription income from Crosssmint reportedly even grew by 1,100%. They also build a platform that is said to be the basis of agentic finances, where AI can make financial decisions without constant supervision.
If you are attracted to real life, imagine that you are on the road, busy or unable to open your phone. Your AI agent can buy tickets for your favorite concert, pay with a tokenized card and everything is recorded on the blockchain. Safe, fast and trouble -free.
