Co-founder and CEO of Coinbase Brian Armstrong believes that the American crypto-strategic reserve that was recently announced by President Donald Trump must consist of Bitcoin (BTC) exclusively.
On the social media platform X, Armstrong says that having “Just Bitcoin” in the US Crypto Strategic Reserve “would probably be the best option.”
According to the Coinbase CEO, Bitcoin is supplied with the “simplest and [clearest] Story as a successor to gold ”compared to other crypto assets.
“If people wanted more variation, you could do a market-cap-weighted index of crypto-assets to keep it unbiased.”
On Sunday, President Trump confirmed that the US will set up a “crypto strategic reserve”, consisting of Bitcoin, Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA). Trump said the reserve will help to ‘elevate’ the crypto industry, while promising to ensure that the US becomes the ‘crypto capital of the world’.
According to the artificial intelligence of the White House and Crypto Tsar David Sacks, more information about the US Crypto Strategic Reserve will be provided during the upcoming Crypto top of the White House, planned for March 7.
