Informal systems, blockchain infrastructure and protocol design provider, announced that his consensus motor, Malachite, was taken over by Circle Internet Group, Inc. (NYSE: CRCL). The technology will be used in ARC, a new open low-1 blockchain network designed for Stablecoin Finance. ARC is planned to launch in TestNet later this year.
By adopting Malachite, Circle wants to improve the performance and security of Stablecoin transactions. The integration is expected to help make payments based on Stablecoin more reliable and cost -efficient.
The Malachite Codebase remains open source under the Apache 2.0 license, so that developers in industry can continue to use and build. Informal systems will also continue to support teams that work on protocol design, cross-chain infrastructure and projects that Malachite use.
This acquisition is in line with Circle’s strategy to strengthen its blockchain possibilities, while informal systems continue its role in promoting open-source technologies for decentralized finances.
