The Luban update on the BNB chain will be activated on June 11, 2023 at block #29,020,050, the developers have announced. The update contains three improvement proposals: BEP-126, BEP-174, BEP-221.
BEP-126 implements the first part of the FastFinality mechanism, which will change the block completion process. The solution is expected to significantly speed up the final confirmation of transactions to approximately 7.5 seconds. This improves user interaction with the network and increases security by reducing the likelihood of malicious reorganization.
BEP-174 introduces a mechanism for managing relays that help transfer assets between different blockchains. BEP-221 will establish simplified block validation for the CometBFT solution, which is used to securely replicate dApps across multiple devices.
