Base introduced a series of new functions during his “A New Day One” conference, with an important evolution for the Ethereum Layer-2 network. The platform has formally renamed BaseChain and indicates a wider vision that goes beyond its original ties with Coinbase.
The largest technical upgrade is flash blocks, which lowers block times from two seconds to 200 milliseconds, making BaseChain 10 times faster and it positions as one of the fastest L2s in the ecosystem.
BaseChain has also renamed a Coinbase portion theater, now an all-in-one app that combines social, discovery, chat, payments and trade. The redesign is intended to offer a seamless user experience that unites important aspects of Web3 interaction under one interface.
Another core core is MagicSpend, with which user can pay gas costs and ship transactions using their existing Coinbase -Saldi. The aim is to eliminate friction by making seamless activity possible without manual cost management.
To accelerate the development on the network, BaseChain Base Build announced, a new initiative that is tailored to his ambition to get 1 million developers on board. The program offers tools and support to bring more builders into the basic ecosystem.
