Argentinian football club to publish Genesis NFT Sneakers
The Argentine Football Association (AFA) works together with StepN, a Solana-based Med-Earn project, to publish a series of digital assets to honor the fans and performance of the Argentine football team, one of the most decorated teams in football history.
The partnership, which will be in force for two years, includes issuing a series of non-fungal tokens (NFTs) of Genesis sneakers that will be divided among the fans by lotteries. Stepn, which has more than 5.7 million registered users worldwide, stated that this would only be the start of this partnership and that many other activities would follow.
Leandro Petersen, the commercial and marketing director of AFA, emphasized the relevance of this deal to expand the digital footprint of the country’s team. He explained:
AFA Pathway in the web3 continues to grow and thanks to StEPN experience, AFA will be able to reach millions of users in the web3 space that are aimed at consolidating the passion and excellence that our team surrenders to the next generation of national fans of Argentina.
These sneakers will also be linked to real-life rewards, including signed jerseys and match tickets, that offer engagement paths that have previously been locked for the two parties.
This is not the first digital involvement of the Argentinian football club. In 2021, the team collaborated with Fan Engagement Platform Socios.com to publish its fan, so that holders could have a say in different team decisions, after a trend that was currently established by other competitions and national teams.
After that, the team worked together with Crypto Exchange Binance in 2022, making it the official sponsor of the team in a 5 -year -old deal that would include the issue of another fantastic. Nevertheless, an Argentinian judge was of the opinion that this partnership could not be made, since the earlier regulation with Socios.com was already in force, in which the parties had been instructed to design.
