The Algorand Foundation has publicly insisted on the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) by Elon Musk to adopt its blockchain for government operations.
In a post of 4 February on X, the foundation emphasized how Algorand’s technology could improve transparency, especially when following federal expenses.
According to Algorand, the blockchain is built with quantum -resistant security, making it ideal for protecting sensitive government data and the prevention of tampering.
Algorand is a block-of-stake blockchain that was launched in 2019. While his Algo Native Token is one of the top 50 cryptocurrencies due to market capitalization, the acceptance of the network has been slow.
Moreover, the project is also confronted with legal control, whereby the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) claims that AGO is eligible if a safety and must comply with the federal regulations.
Blockchain
The Foundation’s statement follows various reports about the growing interest of Doge in the use of blockchain solutions for public administration.
Last month, reports emerged that the organization considered Blockchain technology as a tool to lower the governance costs. Potential applications of the solution would be financial supervision, payment processing, data security and infrastructure management.
DOGE officials reportedly discussed with several blockchain developers to determine the best fit for the initiative.
This has aroused interest from various blockchain projects, including Cardano. The founder, Charles Hoskinson, recently presented a multi-chain approach with Cardano, Bitcoin and midnight, and offered to contribute without contributing.
Doge stands for challenges
While Doge Blockchain -Integration is investigating, the activities have come under the research.
On 3 February, the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations brought a lawsuit against the American treasury. The trade union claims that the agency has granted access to doge to personal and financial data illegally, so that the federal protection is being violated.
Moreover, legislators have expressed concern about the authority of Doge. Senator Chuck Schumer criticized the initiative and warned of the uncontrolled influence of a private individual managed within public institutions.
He argued that although technological progress is welcome, government supervision should not be modeled on a company start.
Musk, however, answered that:
‘[DOGE] Is our only chance to give the power back to the people of a non -chosen bureaucracy back to democracy !! “
