Fundstrat Chief Investment Officer Tom Lee says that market sales are caused by the release of cheap Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) model Deepseek is an overreaction.
In a new interview about CNBC’s “Closing Bell”, Lee out The market correction of that Monday is probably a chance for long -term investors.
Stocks and Crypto fell on Monday, while investors processed the implications of Deepseek, including for AI chip maker Nvidia (NVDA), one of the toughest hit shares.
āMarkets do not like uncertainty. They like visibility. They love canals. So markets are a bit scared [Monday]. For me it is an overreaction. The decrease in the Nvidia is the worst since March 2020, and we know that is a huge opportunity for investors. It’s not a nice day, but I would see this as an opportunity …
This is the nature of technology. I would personally be surprised if Nvidia became Betamax last week. I mean, that would really be the kind of change that would be necessary to really justify Nvidia here. In view of the need for AI because of the global labor shortage and the NVIDIA chip dominance, it is still strong, unless a new model emerges that no GPUs (graphic processing units) requires completely, I would say that markets generally simply have copper ready ready are. ”
Lee also says that in 2025 he will be Bullish about the financial sector in general.
āFinancials represent a fairly good fundamental case of change this year for me, because we have a new administration, a Fed that is Dovish, provides the proceeds that are not painful for banks, and at a time when it can lead to upside down The activity and multiples of capital markets are low. So I think financial data will remain our number one S&P sector ideas. “
