Los Angeles – Nova Labs, a pioneer in decentralized wireless communications, has joined forces with American Bandwidth (Ameriband), a leading provider of Wi-Fi infrastructure, to expand Ameriband’s extensive network of more than 100,000 enterprise access points (APs). to integrate into the Helium network. This strategic partnership aims to expand Helium’s coverage footprint across North America almost immediately, equipping it with mini cell towers that improve connectivity for both users and mobile carriers.

Bridging traditional infrastructure with decentralized networks
The partnership marks a monumental leap for the Helium Network, which uses a unique crypto incentive model to empower its users. By creating a bridge that converts existing infrastructure into valuable coverage, Nova Labs is demonstrating the potential of a community-owned network, in stark contrast to the expensive cell towers typical of traditional telecommunications.
Ameriband’s integration into the Helium Network allows mobile carriers – including major telecom operators and virtual carriers (MNOs and MVNOs) – to adopt a more cost-effective data transfer solution. Already used by three major North American carriers, Helium Carrier Offload allows carriers to reduce data congestion and operational costs while delivering uninterrupted connectivity to their subscribers. Hotspot operators are incentivized with cryptocurrency when users from other providers connect through this decentralized network.
A new era for mobile infrastructure
Ameriband is leading the way in this decentralized model, paving the way for widespread adoption of community-driven mobile infrastructure. As the Helium network expands, Helium Mobile phone plan subscribers will benefit from improved coverage and enhanced connectivity in various locations. This partnership illustrates how a user-owned network can provide an affordable alternative to carriers while rewarding Hotspot operators and partners like Ameriband.
Howard Buzick, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Ameriband, shared his excitement:
“We believe Helium Mobile is leading the wireless industry with innovative, decentralized carrier offloading. We are pleased to contribute to this evolution by expanding our capabilities for stakeholders while improving connectivity for end users.”

Key highlights of the partnership
Network Expansion: Ameriband’s network of more than 100,000 enterprise-grade APs will be integrated into the Helium Carrier Offload, significantly improving coverage of major retailers, supermarket chains and commercial locations.
Carrier Participation: Three major North American carriers are already using the Helium Carrier Offload, allowing them to offload mobile data and reduce connectivity costs. This new integration will generate additional traffic to the network.
Crypto-Powered Networks: The Helium Network combines traditional wireless coverage with decentralized crypto-powered solutions, creating a vast network of user-owned mini cell towers.
Expanded Coverage for Helium Mobile Subscribers: Users on the Helium Mobile phone plan will benefit from seamless offloading to Ameriband’s extensive network, enhancing their connectivity experience.
“This collaboration with Ameriband marks an important milestone in the growth of the Helium Carrier Offload,” said Mario Di Dio, General Manager Network at Nova Labs. “By integrating their extensive network of enterprise-level access points, we are not only expanding coverage and capacity, but also demonstrating the power of decentralized wireless infrastructure to advance the telecom industry.”
