Boundless art comes to life with Superchief’s network of NFT galleries

Digital art and NFTs have transcended the boundaries of the metaverse – or they hope to do so very soon.

Edward Zipco, the founder of Superchief Gallery, which opened in Manhattan in March 2021, is working to speed up the process.

At the EthCC event held in Paris in July, he revealed his plan to create a global network of 50 physical NFT galleries where artists and exhibitions can travel seamlessly between different countries.

Kicking off the world tour? IHAM Gallery, Europe’s first native NFT Gallery, based in Paris. During the EthCC there was the exhibition “Cyberpunk” of Superchief.

Another venue in Paris, the NFT Factory, as well as Unpaired Gallery in Switzerland, Knox Gallery in Japan, Uncommon Gallery in Korea, OX Society in Canada and Oshi Gallery in Australia are also part of the adventure.

Each of the galleries already exists, but Zipco wants to better connect them all through global exhibitions, all existing simultaneously across all networked galleries thanks to the unique characteristics of digital art.

“The exchange of ideas and creativity between these galleries will be a testament to the global impact of the NFT movement, crossing borders and connecting artists and communities from different regions,” Zipco said. Decrypt.

Grida, the art director of the IHAM gallery, endorses this vision and tries to exploit the digital nature of her works when presenting them to the public.

“For the past two years I have been organizing personal exhibitions of digital art, taking advantage of the fact that digital art is not limited by location or size,” Grida said. Decrypt. “I have always had the ambition to show my art in several galleries at the same time. There was no reason for me not to participate in the Sisters Gallery project.”

It’s not just an experiment using the pixelated medium of art, either. For both Grida and Zipco, hosting physical NFT exhibits is essential to empowering a growing community of digital art enthusiasts.

“Seeing art in real life, whether on a large scale or on a small canvas, has a big impact on viewers and gives them an immersive experience beyond the confines of a smartphone screen,” Zipco said. Decrypt. “We firmly believe that exhibiting art in real-life settings fosters a unique bond between artists and their audiences, allowing the discourse around NFTs to flourish.”

Not only does it facilitate interaction with an artist’s audience and collectors, but it also provides opportunities to make connections with other creators, and most importantly, validate them as artists, by reminding them that they are artists before they become labeled as “NFT Artists”.

Ultimately, Zipco’s ambition is “to define the beginnings of a movement that unites artists, collectors and art lovers from every corner of the world and celebrates the boundless potential of NFT art.”
